Opinion? T3 lite or Ultimate shadow

Rob,
I wish I had access to the old site and could quote you on all of the bashing you did on em. :) :) :) :)
All kidding aside, your right, they are good guns. I loved my M695, and have shot quite a few T3's in different cal's and all shot extremely well. REDD's 270 WSM kicks like my 243 with the brake on it, and chilly's 243 shoots half MOA out ot 300 yards.
The only detractor is the lack of aftermarket accessories for the T3 IMHO.
But Tupperware has never been the deciding factor on a rifle for me. If it fits me, and shoots well, I could care less what the stock is made of.
and they fit me pretty good so...

I'm trying to make the same purchase decision. Practicality aside, I just like the looks of the model 70. The T3 may be a better gun out of the box, but if you're going to spend a lot of time with something,(or some one for that matter) finding it ( or them) atractive is important!

Personally, I'd rahter have a gun that fits well, than an attractive one.
and besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder:D

True, I didn't like the factory finish on my wood tikka stock, it marked easily:( . I just refinished it with TruOil and It looks 10 times better:D . If I was to buy again, it would be the laminate SS or the synthetic SS.

Also, on the .300WM Vs .300WSM, there really is no difference big enough to matter in a hunting rifle, I bought the .300WinMag because there is factory ammo available in every hardware store and sports store in Canada, WSM is still hit and miss in the small stores.

Tikka Vs. Winchester

Had a recent Winchester Featherweight in wood stock and stainless in 270. Looked great, felt good, but came factory with a very sloppy floor plate. I had to do some personal touch ups to get it to close and click into place properly. Very turned off by the quality control on this rifle. Did shoot well but was quite angry that Winchester sent it through without correcting the problem.

Last summer purchased a new Tikka T3 Lite in stainless synthetic, also in 270I was not too keen on the plastic magazine at first. It was the only thing that felt cheap on the rifle. I got over it very fast because it has such a smooth action and I'm surprised how good it feels everytime I pull this rifle. It looks great, functions great and it shoots fantastic. It also takes only a second to adjust the trigger down to almost nothing. I'd buy a Tikka again in a second. Good luck!
