We al know premium ammo is not cheap and with the way things are im order online and personally going lead free.so i ordered a premium cooper ammo from one of our prefered dealers and they subtituted a trphy bonded bullet as i guess they sold the ammo i ordered and paid for.they did not call or send an email just put on the bill subtitued. Quite frankly im pissed ,tried calling them but there closed.im not going to call them out but wait to see what happens tommorow.i leave for my hunt saturday for week long moose and now have to take leaded ammo or try and find lead free . What pisses me the most is they didnt even ask or back order just a here you go we did you a favor now eat lead.looks like i have to go and take a different
caliber rifle on my moose trip. The lightweight will stay at home. What would you guys do.Are we now at mercy of this mail order only and they ship what they got stuck with. The ammo is definatly old stock as its jackets are tarnished.ive shot the same ammo in the gun before and grouped horrible broad side of barn horrible.just really pissed

Are you going to re sight your scope with the new ammo?

No damn way I would just accept whatever they handed me. Go to shoot an animal and its 3 inches off to the right and 2 inches low? no thanks.

Most retailers have a "no returns" on ammo policy, so hopefully the vendor will correct this as it's their issue. If I ordered copper bullet / premium ammo and I received something different, I'd be pizzed too.

This.

Vendor definitely has some part of the blame for sure.

However, was the rifle already sighted in for the lead-free ammo or were you planning doing that before leaving for your moose hunting trip? If the latter is true, you kind of left yourself little time to prep for a important hunting trip.

There is a "glass half full" way of looking at this... The biggest question here that hasn't been answered yet...are you going on your long weekend hunting trip with an empty rifle...If that's the case I'd fill er up with whatch'a got from them.

So did you actually talk to the store that sold you the ammo? My guess is that nothing was "substituted" but rather someone grabbed the wrong box of ammo and shipped it off.

In the OP first post.
".they did not call or send an email just put on the bill subtitued"
Not a mistake.

Un happy consumer ...send it back.
Find the ammo you need before the trip and worry about the refund after you return.
Or , you can fret about it the whole time and spoil the therapy of being away from home, work and other associated pressures.

Don't be another one of the dummys that makes a thread like this and doesn't give out the name of the dealer! That's an insane level of bullsh*t and they need to be called out.

This is only one of a few reasons why I reload. It also appears that the OP might of received his ammo only days prior to leaving for a hunting trip..............don't leave important items to the last minute.
