Hey folks,
I was out at the range today, and am curious about some things. I was using my Squires Bingham .22lr semi, at 100m with a Bushnell 3-9x40 scope, with Federal bulk ammo.
I ended up with the following results(ignore date damn camera):
4GOLFBALLS.jpg

Now not all of these were with first shots:
GOLFBALL2.jpg

GOLFBALL4.jpg

GOLFBALL3.jpg

GOLFBALL1.jpg

Now in between plinking at the balls I did this:

NOV15TARGET.jpg

I was using front and rear rests and the light wind was downrange but slightly left to right (thats a 3.75 inch bull)

The question that I am asking is:

Is this as good as it gets???? or am I at the limit of gun, scope, ammo and me??

Can I have your thoughts please.

Well... if you want my opinion... that's pretty good...

You should try to get in on the online matches... it's a good motivation to practice and my keeping score, it will allow you to see how you improve...

Look for the rules forum at the top of the rimfire forum...

Great shooting by the way... I really like shooting golf balls too!

Those holes printed on that target at 100 yards is pretty good for a .22LR IMO. Might get a little better, but not much for a non-target style rifle.

Thanks for the kind words folks. :)

So until I get a heavy barrel and can afford premium ammo, I guess its practice, practice, practice. like thats a toughie

I have a Squire Bingham model 14 p med heavy barrel and that is about the same accuracy I get. I shoot my 10/22 target for 1.5" groups at 100m. Squires are a 50 meter rifle at best IMO.

Try some different ammo, .22's each have their own likes and dislikes. It doesn't always have to be target ammo that they like either. One of my 10/22's loves Winchester Wildcat the best, go figure!
