Looking for input from folks who are more experienced.

Opinions/comparisons between the Crossman 2240 and the Benjamin Sheridan EB22. I am looking on the Scopes&Ammo.com website and I can get the crossman with steel breech kit for less than the BS EB22, but maybe the crossman is way to cheaply made.

Is the BS EB22 a way better pistol?

Are either worth try to use for hunting of small game?

2240 have more power 460 FPS VS 430 FPS and it easy to increase the power of the 2240

If you want to mod the airgun, get the 2240, hands down, no contest.

The Ben-Sheridan is a great little pistol, was once a direct competitor to the Crosman products, but they have been bought by Crosman, so you are getting a product from the same company.

If you like the EB-22 better, buy it. It's shorter, handles a bit differently than the 2240, but is pretty much on par with the Crosman, just differently built.

If you think you may be interested in modifying the gun, the 2240 is it. You can build anything from an almost Crosman 150, all the way up to a light carbine (look at a Crosman 262, same body tube) and anything in between.

Crosman used a lot of the parts they were already producing, to make their new models, so interchange between all the CO2 guns is pretty straightforward, and you can build just about anything on the chassis.

2240 vs. EB

I'd get the 2240. Is the EB better built? Yes, but the 2240 will not fall apart even with continous use. I've had an EB, an HB and a 2240 and I've still got the 2240 whereas I've sold the others. I find the grip a lot better on the 2240, it's easy to modify (I like to replace the standard barrel with a 1322 barrel) and I like the sights better. I think you can mount a scope on the steel breech witch is another plus.

Can you use it for hunting? Yes (in Ontario it's legal) but keep your range short and make sure you can hit your target.
