They suffer from the "cool" factorI saw those two Model 14-2's from Weimajack. Struck me as being exceptionally well priced. I think he is a business and has to collect tax but even so.....
I must admit I'm surprised they haven't been snapped up at that price but I guess the market for vintage revolvers is relatively small.
That's the best option if you have the choiceMy advice is to go to your local club and try different guns that members have! If approached in a polite manner, no gun lover worth his salt wouldn't offer to let a new member of the firearms community burn some of their powder. Show them the ropes. You may even find someone that has a gun for sale that suits ur needs. Totally agree with longer barrel for sight radius as well as 22 caliber. Buy quality and youll never regret you bought a Smith&Wesson. Only my opinion and the others have given sound advice. Glad you've joined the shootring community
The 10 rounder has very precise tolerances and cheaper thin wall ammo tends to swell and bind I use CCI standard it works betterI have an 9 shot 22lr / 8 shot 22wmr Alfa Proj. My friend has a 10 shot 22lr S&W 617 and my uncle and a friend each have 6 shot 22lr S&W 17. Having shot these guns I noticed the lower capacity 22lr revolvers (S&W 17) have an easier time overcoming the resistance to extracting spent cases.
The reason I would prefer the S&W 17
I have the Alfa Proj because I like the option to up the power to 22wmr.
