I like handi's but in 308, get a Stevens 200 about the same $ and even with a sporter barrel accuracy potential is at or better than the bull barrel handi and the handi will take some/or lots of tweeking to get to potential. I have 2 handi's and one stevens and I like them all, but if the chambering is in both get the Stevens.

Handi's are great little rifles, for situations where a single shot is sufficient.

I've got the 'buffalo classic' 45-70 (basically a handi with better sights and wood, and a 32" bbl) - it's great.

I'd love a 500 S&W handi, but the US won't allow exports of '50s' - I've tried.

I think I'm going to grab the new .45LC Buffalo classic next, or maybe a 44 mag handi.

Not at present, but any dealer who carries Handi's should theoretically be able to order them in. Ellwood Epps have been good to me in the past.

If you decide to call and order one, send me a PM - I think I'll probably be up for one as well

Thanks guys, Not sure what I'm going to do.... I'm looking for an economical solution, how ever I don't expect a tack driver, I don't want to have to do alot of tweeking either...

45/70 eh? well now I wasn't thinking of anything like that ....... but could be interesting.

Just off the top of your head ... ballsitics? range? etc...

There is something wrong there, 500 S&W revolvers are exported no problem and the ban is on 0.510" dia. firearms and components based on the 50 BMG, the 500 S&W is 0.500" dia. for that reason according to an article I read about the development of the cartridge. Also I'm not too sure I would want one, check out this video.

Tell the border guys in the US that. All they see is '50' and 'rifle' and hit it with the 'rejected' stamp. #######s.
