I want to end up with one 9mm and one .40. So should I go with the Glock 17 and Beretta 96A1, or Glock 22 and Beretta 92FS?

shoot both, get the one you like more, personally I would say glock, less expensive, simpler, less snappy, no manual safety, whole host of upgradeability.

Personally I would go M&P 40 and Beretta 92FS, but if you insist on Glock then, Glock 22 and Beretta 92FS (has to be Inox, you have to get the Inox).

I dont know anything about glocks but for the beretta id take the 92fs all day,imo a rail on a beretta is like a rail on a 1911 just dosnt belong.

Yo strait up da glock nephew. Da beretta be aiigt but tha glock strait up da illest. It gots to be in da nina dont wast ur time on dat 40 noise dem bullets wack

Get the glock in 40 and Beretta in 9mm. I have the glocks in both 9 and 40 and the beretta in 9mm and have shot it in 40. I prefer the beretta as a 9mm. You can always get a 9mm barrel for your glock later.

I'd say the Beretta 92, possibly because I just bought the Girsan version from one of the sponsors :)

Can't comment on the Glock, being as it's at the bottom of my I Want It list

have you tried the M&P? I have it in both calibers and prefer it to my Glocks. more comfortable and more accurate. All I do to a M&P is add the Apex trigger mod and a fibre optic front sight to get the right sight height for me.

I carried a Beretta 96D as a duty pistol (about 9 years) and referred to it as a fu##ing boat anchor. From what I have read and seen first-hand Berettas don't handle .40 S&W very well. Lots of cracked slides with prolonged use. Stick with 9mm if you must have a Beretta. When we transitioned to SIGs I bought a used 92G and a 96 Vertec. They were okay but sold them after a year. I don't like Beretta DAO or DA/SA triggers.
