opinions on .45ACP with 4.25" barrel

Thank you one and all, for your ideas. I will start to look around at the ones suggested.
I was told to look at S&W M and P's. I know they are DAO, but was told they were a good choice.

Excellent choice in a "modern" 45 auto.

I just last week bought a S&W 4566 and it is exactly 4.25 inches, its an old gun but is still on the LAPD carry list and has a trigger pull like a 686.

Light to carry like a truck, but that works well with a small .45acp.

Bob:)

STI ranger II's use a government length dust cover on their frame. On molded/tight holsters for true Commander they don't fit very well.

I prefer the actual 4.25" Commander. They shoot very well (I have an alloy frame Para LTC in .45) and the balance of the gun is better than the 5".

I still think 1911's look better.

+1

Oh yeah..............

Anyone mentionned Colt's Commander ?? I mean the original one with the alloy frame...I've been partial to these for more than 25 years & they've always served me well as an ``all around 45``.
