I use my one without the hood to allow the most light onto the sight in the bush. The rifle shoots well with my pet load using Bullet Barn 405 gr. hardcast boolits plopped out at 1300 fps. that are more than up to the job for the distances I use the bugger for which can go to 500+ yds. on smacking rocks or rounds of timber. For game or pest critters inside 150 yds., the beasty works beauty.
