Just curious as to what people's experiences have been with Hornady brass - in general and where possible with Hornady .223 / 5.56 brass specifically.

If it makes any difference, I am shooting a bolt action rifle (not an AR) and am interested in accuracy.

The once fired Hornady for 223 I found a little harder then the regular stuff Rem Winchester I use but it was fine all else considered.

I run their brass in my 223 and 308 bolt guns. I am pretty happy with it. My 223 is from factory ammo and my 308 I bought once fired. Both are holding up well. I am on my 6th firing on some with no annealing. Their price has gone up it seems so I probably wouldn't buy anymore

I like it. I use it mostly in .223 and supplement with Remy and Federal.

I also load test/load develop with it in .223. Consistent, no issues.

When reloading Hornady 35 Whelen brass I'd be lucky to get 3 uses before the case heads were too thin. Remington, Federal and Nosler would get minimum 7.

No complaints with Hornady brass in 308 win though.

In my experience, there's better and worse brass out there. I found Hornady takes more prep work to make a good starting point for accurate ammo than say Lapua which shouldn't be surprising. If Lapua was more readily available particularly in the calibers I load for I would probably pay the extra and get that. I've used Hornady in 223/556, 308Win, 30-06, 300 WinMag and 338RCM. With the RCM it is the only option so it hardly counts.

I'm on the fence with it....have some in .257Wby, 30/06, and 30/30. It's thin in these cartridges, consistent weight though, it's close to the old Winchester brass but softer and not as durable I guess is the best way to explain my experience with it.
There must be a good profit margin for dealers as everyone seems to stock it.

I got 9 reloads out of .223 Hornady brass before I decided to upgrade to lapua.

I'm using Hornady brass for my 6.5cm my last batch only got about 5 reloads before I was seriously worried about case separation. Once lapua makes CM brass I'll switch to it likely. I'm running my load pretty hot I'm getting a fare amount of stretching I feel per reload.
