Opinions on how to properly break in a new barrel.

cleaned it with a bore snake......

A bore snake will do more damage to a barrel than any break in procedure suggested by a barrel maker.

This topic of breaking a barrel in has been discussed so many times I think you should simply read what the barrel makers state and then do whatever you want.

Here are some links that hopefully work:

You can search on the forums and find many threads I am sure.

Just don't get it to hot first 5 or 6 times at the range. And clean it each time out..with solvent a bronze brush/patch , and rod. enjoy :D
Action screws/bolts should be checked, and any contact from barrel to wood/plastic taken away.,
