So im looking for a good lpvo 1-6 or 1-8 for my GSG-15.
so far these are the ones i have found to be the contenders. i wanna keep the price under 700$ish.

Strike eagle. 1-6 (or 1-8 if i wanna spend extra 150$) kind of a good starting point. 18oz decent glass but reticle isn't my fav

The venom max tac 1-6. no clue about glass quality. I have not seen the glass in these but i really like the reticle. ( doesnt have that circle alot of lpvos have) Not much info on these.. winnipeg scope company.

The bushnell forge. HD glass. german reticle. (clean reticle) 1-8. ONLY issue is this thing is a tank. 26oz and 34mm tube.

Primary arms with the acss 22lr reticle. People say better glass then vortrex?? and its designed for 22 and its light 15.5oz. but the circle reticle.

If anyone has any opinions please share! thanks!

I use a Nikon P-Tactical .223 1.5-4.5×20 BDC 600

Used on a ruger pc carbine and dlask 10/22

I like it because it is a 1" tube and has "traditional" cross hairs

I have always found Nikon glass to be good, dare I say better than Vortex

Mind you Nikon scopes are discontinued

Yupp, so if you have to use to warranty expect credit towards other nikon products, not a replacement scope.

I hear good things about nikon quality (particularly how good the glass is for the price) though, so I would be willing to take that risk.

I have a primary arms 1-6 with the .22 reticule on One of my gsg15’s. Easily shoot steel at 200 yards with it. But the glass isn’t anything to write home about. On my other gsg15 I have a Holosun red dot and it works just fine shooting at steel (18”x18” or 28x13”) out to 200 yards.

Anyone know of a retailer with a primary arms 1-6 or 1-8 SFP ACSS scope? I have been looking and emailing but can't seem to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I threw a Strike Eagle 1-8x on my Tavor 7 and really like it. The 1x power is awesome for making close snap shots as the eye box is very generous. The 8x power is great too for offering a a little extra zoom for reaching out further. Turrets track well, all the interfaces are smooth to adjust, glass is excellent and I like the reticle as well. Illumination is a bonus too for getting those last few minutes of shooting light in, however I use it more often with the illumination off.

Planning on buying a couple more for a few other rifles I have once I free up some extra funds for the gun budget

Light rifle, light cartridge, you don't need a scope that weighs like a section of barbell. Don't get the forge.

I'd go with Primary arms for value, Vortex for the warranty.

Not familiar with the venom max tac scope brand.

Another vote for primary arms. I've got 2, one 556 and another 7.62x39. Glass is immaculate for the price and they are lightweight yet durable. Check CTCSupplies, a site sponsor.

Serious Q- how much does it matter? And how much less than that on a GSG semi auto?

I would tell someone to just buy a red dot if they want that functionality on a gun like the GSG because the cheap LVPO’s are awful to use on 1x and not much better on other powers. Most of them aren’t really daylight bright either. The glass is mediocre and all, but the real thing they lack is being nice to use as a red dot. A TRS25 is usually better on that front.

They get illumination and something resembling 1x into scopes at these low price points be cutting back on everything else, so if you really want a scope, I tell people to consider buying a budget 1.5-whatever type scope because you can get something optically comparable to 1-6 for way less money or get something nicer for the same. It’s not for accuracy or glass quality per se, more that the compromises to make a 1-6 so cheap lead to a overall poor product.
