Opinions on NP-22 Sig226 Clone

I say save your $ until you can afford a real one, look in the EE, I bought mine used (W.German P226) and don't regret it one bit. It shoots like a custom 3000$ gun, seriously, you will never find such a fine trigger, and it can group 1.5" at 25 meters.

I personnaly will never buy a Sig clone.

I had a NP22 like five yrs ago....shot aprox 1200 rnds and sold it because I saw that it getting a fast wearing on the alu-alloy frame rails...I'll recommend an original SIG anytime !

I would only buy one if you already have a nice quality pistol in the collection - then I would use it as a disposable commodity, making sure it gets nice holster wear while my main pistol is kept clean. I thought about buying one so my first gun (real sig) doesn't get abused but then decided against it

I wrote this in another thread but thought it might interest you.

But a used and rebuilt German Sig is a much nicer gun than a Norinco copy...and the mags are actual Sig mags, not the garbage Chinese mags. This isn't a big deal with 1911s where mags are relatively cheap and easy to come by but with $50-60 Sig mags it really matters.

I bought a German sig recently with minimal holster wear and that's it...internals are mint (not surprising on the CPO guns) with 4 Mec-Gar mags for under $600.

Figure that buying a Nork + 4 quality mags would cost you $550+tax, assuming the mags were $50 each and shipped for free...often the mags are closer to $60 and may not ship from the same supplier as the pistol so could word out to more like $75 once you figure in taxes and shipping...so $300 in mags and $400+ for the Nork after taxes and shipping.

So if you actually intend to run your gun, and therefore need quality mags, the cost difference between a Norinco Sig knockoff and an actual West German Sig - incidentally most serious Sig guys believe these to be the best of the Sigs - is negligible, or possibly in favour of the actual Sig. For this reason I think buying the Norinco version is frankly nuts.

If you don't have the coin ...
buy it ...

Later you can upgrade if you see fit ...

You can sell or trade it if you see fit to do so ... and you'll likely get 80 to 90 percent of your money back ..

And since they are great copies , you may find that you don't like them at all, and therefore you will not have 1200 ish dollars tied up ...

I have the clone and the real deal. Both in 40. With new grips, they both shoot the same. Both have excellent single action triggers. DA is a bit smoother in SIG.

Also have the clone CZ (a better gun than the SIG - I like solid steel) and it too si superb. Also have 3 Norc1911s. Yes, I like them and with a the usual tune up, they all function 100% and are accurate.
