Hey guys, I'm curious if anyone has experience with the primary arms 1-6x with the ACSS predator Reticle.

I'm set on a 1-6x Optic and I personally don't see the benefit of FFP for a 1-6x. And at 1x the chevron would be too small to see. So SFP it is.
The Primary Arms 1-6 scopes meet my needs and budget.
It seems the Regular 5.56 ACSS Reticle is very popular but I was looking at their other options like the griffin, predator, and KISS as well.

I have a kind of color blindness that makes red on a light background, such as a paper target, difficult to see. Green on a light background is fine. So the regular ACSS only being offered in red illumination was a letdown for me but also knowing I'll be shooting during the day, the illumination isn't the biggest factor. The 1-6 ACSS Predator is offered with red or green illumination.

So my issue with the more popular ACSS 5.56 Reticle is that it is all based on the average human height and shoulder width for quick BDC. The issue is that unless if I had a mannequin out on the range, this is completely useless for range use.

The ACSS predator Reticle is the same idea, still for 5.56, but focused towards Hogs/Coyotes etc. Instead of a humans shoulders or average height, it is based on a 10" Circle for a hogs head or a coyotes torso.

Huge fan of the chevron over a dot as well

Other than this reticle being ideal on a NR rifle for the yotes, I'm wondering if it would be ideal for the range as well. A lot of paper targets have a target with a 10" outer ring. Or for shots on a 10" Steel gong.

Am I out to lunch here, or does it seem like they missed an opportunity to market this as a budget friendly range/3 gun capable reticle as well? Of course you could shoot anything with any optic but it seems like the Predator reticle fits the bill better than the normal 5.56 reticle.

If anyone has any hands on experience with this scope I'd love to hear it.

I see CTCS has the predator in stock

I have the PA 1-8x with "regular" ACSS reticle. I really like the reticle. Simple & clean with tons of info built in.

One thing to keep in mind, the reticles in your post are obviously designed to reach out without making adjustments (holdovers) which is fine assuming you are using the same ammo they were calibrated for (speed / drop), if your ammo doesn't line up it could make holding over difficult. In that scenario the regular ACSS would be easier (eg, at 300 use the 4th crosshair for your ammo as opposed to the third or whatever).

Shame the regular red ACSS reticle doesn't work for you. Food for thought anyways.
