With all the thread moving lately not sure where to put this.

Looking for opinions on the S&J NANO LINEAR COMP NLC-1 - .762.

How is it for muzzle climb ?

Because of it's compact size thinking it could be useful on an SKS assuming barrel has enough meat on it to thread.

I have one on my 308, and i rather like it. Not because it reduces muzzle climb, which is does... slightly, but because i makes the 16.5" much more pleasant to shoot. I had a very effective short brake on it, but it was LOUD and the concussion was rather brutal under cover, never mind the muzzle flash would obscure the sight picture with some loads.

Thanks for posting your experience with the Nano jparent.

And gotta say I like your signature. But not so sure I agree with the too early part at this point in the game. :p

The closer you get to the bottom, the slipperier the slope becomes...

Hey Simon,

Any idea if an SKS barrel has enough meat & length to thread one of these 5/8x24_7.62 Nano's on it ?

I have one on my 300BLK conversion for my ACR and it will shoot sub moa with handloads. Instead of saying it degrades accuracy I think it would be more accurate to say that it changes the barrel harmonic which could work either way depending on the ammo being used.
I don't really notice any reduction of anything other than noise.

Ok, so you're saying it changes point of impact, not accuracy ? That's not uncommon with breaks though. Not too worried about that.

Only reduced noise ... ok, that's good information. I'm more looking for getting back on target slightly faster vs noise reduction. Hummmm... maybe I should consider one of those little old school .45 degree AK breaks for an SKS.

Thinking this NANO would be great on a 700 ACC-SD 16.5" I'm piecing together though.

Linear brakes mostly are used to reduce muzzle blast, and they do tame recoil a bit, but not like a dedicated precision brake does. When you get to 16" and under, brakes tend to really increase noise, and occasionally depending on the design, direct blast back at the shooter. I really like linear for the short barrels. Longer barrels I prefer more recoil reducing brakes.
Not sure if you saw this though....No threading required.

Yeah I saw that one Hitzy, thanks.

Looks like a good piece of kit but wanted to keep it compact.

I was out today with my AR15 with an S&J 10.5" barrel and S&J linear brake. Quite the fireball but no concussion at all. Great barrel I got a long time ago...1/7, GOV profile, nitride finish, quite accurate.
