That is where the M14 came from. Yup, those were the days.
Notice how much "safer" society has become since then, particularly in the large urban centres where drug gangs have unfettered access to crime guns. Less then 4% of seized firearms are traceable to legally registered sources, yet, if only we had a outright ban on handguns, well then, we would be so much, much more safer!
And if we just had an outright ban on all firearms, well, abra-ka-friggin-dabra, there would be no suicides, murder or war! We'd all live in peace and harmony...right.
Ahh, well. At least I rode my CCM Mustang bicycle without a helmet, ate peanut butter and jam sandwiches at school, skated with just a toque on, played on the back bench seat of my Dad's '63 Chev Belair without a seat belt, and rode the teeter totter and merry go round at the local park. And fired a rifle that used a 30 round magazine. All without incident.
