Opinions on used 92S from Italy?

I assume are you talking about surplus guns from Lever arms. You can get a 96D (.40) police trade in for the same price they are newer but they are DAO

Personally I would get one for $850 :)

the 92s has a frame safety and a heel mag release, which may make it hard to get mags for it, even assuming it's got a new tube- i've got an sb( slide safety) with the same heel mag release and i have to look very carefully to find any mags or "make" one out of a sb-f or later style mag-

I almost purchased one. I was turned off when I found out they only came with one mag. The price seems a little steep considering that it’s surplus and only comes with one mag.

They look like an OK deal. New Beretta mags will have the dual cut out for the heel release. - So no worries about mags.

Personally I'd spring for the extra $250 and get a new one unless you've already got a new one or just want a classic 92S.

$550 + tax + shipping + another mag and your darn close to a NIB Beretta purchased locally.

There are ways to abuse these guns; letting the slide close on an empty chamber, dry firing, etc. (this coming from a guy who demands that people take their wedding rings off before touching one of my pistols - I'm not kidding.) Without knowing it’s history (previous owner) I’d be a little jaded.

If Lever Arms had a history of backing up their product It wouldn't be so bad. I've never had a problem myself, well maybe one, but there have been complaints from many. That being said they ship FAST! and always get the order right.
