Jiust my 2 cents. I've had my 1300 for 18 years. I've shot geese, ducks etc with it and lots of trap. I also have the smoothbore slug barrel for it. it is a working gun not a princess. This gun has never let me down. I have nothing bad to say about the 870 or 500. To call the winchester 1300 a POS is blasphemy in my opinion. Just my 2 cents. My gun has probably shot 2000-3000 rounds without a glitch.

in all reality the 870, 1300, and 500 are all great guns. Ive owned all of them and abused all of them. Ive had no problems with any of them. call me silly but the only thing i didnt like was over time my 870s finish scratched off the bolt. Other than that small thing they are all perfectly fine. All you guys who have had defects are thinkin to drasticly. There is no gun in the world that has not had a defect, there is always a lemon of the bunch.
