Opinions please on NP 22 9mm

Hi all,
Im ready to venture into the world of handguns. I dont intend shooting in competitions and am just looking for a functional, reliable handgun of the 9mm variety.
I tried a Tokarev but dont like the idea of trying to find that ammo if the stores ran dry and the 9mm version seems scarce.
Has anybody any experience with the NP 22. I know its a Norc kinock off, but I have a Norc 305 and have had no problems at all..apart from the leaning front sight.
Any info at all would be much appreciated :)
 
I always say if you can afford a real Sig, go for it. But if you can only afford the knockoff, it's a pretty good gun, especially for the price.
 
I've put more than 2000 rounds through mine. It's a big brutal ugly gun that shoots every time. The DA trigger is pretty heavy to me but the SA follow up is fine. Never had any problems with it. Out of the box it needs a shake through. Clean, lube it plenty and then start putting rounds through it. After a few dozen it smoothed out for me. Has some sharp edges that again need working through. Also SO SO CHEAP
 
Great ... thanks guys :) I know in this world you get what you pay for and I had good luck with a Norc already and can live with a rough diamond. It just has to keep going bang.
Id very much like a Sig or Browning but the wife needs to eat now and then.

you won't have any issues with it, and if you decide to take a stone or a file to sharp edges it won't cost you anything in resale. For that matter, if you decide to sell it you'll probably only loose 50$. Where if you bought a "real" sig, you'd loose 30%+ and all you'd really gain is a better finish.
 
One thing to consider is that the NP-22 does not have the SRT system that the newer SIGs have. It makes a world of difference I found. You can buy it separately from Questar and drop it in yourself though. That's what I did.
