Had a choice a few years back to buy a Miroku "gold trigger" 81' BLR in either .308 Win or .358 Win.
Chose the .308 Win because of a much greater choice in both factory ammo and reloading components.
Can't remember the last time I saw a box of .358 Win ammo on store shelves that are literally covered with .308 Win ammo in the fall.
Just about every manufacturer makes ammo and components for the .308 Win.
The BLR in .308 Win has killed every animal I aimed it at including a bull moose at over 425 yards.
I made the right choice.
but said:Thats a good one. It reminds me of one of the funnier things I read on gunnutz: It was when, in response to people complaining about its high cost, a fellow said that the .17HMR was not a good caliber for guys on welfare.

I have read this hole thing, and as a big .358 fan, I have to add loading the 158 XTP pistol bullet to around 2700 proves to be a good large pest killer.
