Once again I find myself considering a purchase and looking to my fellow CGNs for advice and opinions.

I am looking at buying a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-10x40 scope to for my M14 and I'm wondering what you all think or if anyone is using this set up at this time. I will be mounting it via the UTG Tri-Rail mount with a secondary mount to bring the scope closer for proper eye relief.

I look forward to hearing your opinions (and perhaps seeing some pics), and I thank you all in advance.

While many folks have had good luck with their 3200s I do know of quite a few that have had their 3200s fall apart inside after only 3-5 shots. Yes the dealer replaced them but it was a waste of ammo and their time. FWIW, at 3 of these guys bought Leupolds instead of the Bushnells and are VERY pleased. Personally, I wouldn't touch anything Bushnell. Leupold offers much better quality scopes for the same or near the money and have the best warranty out there.

Yes, I got screwed over by Bushnell's Lifetime warranty and vowed never to support their products again.

I also like Nikon, Burris and Mueller (the 3-10 X 44 Tac II is a wonderful scope!!!)

I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x on my M14, scoped using the Troy MCS.

I've put about 800 rounds through it so far, scope holding up just fine.

I figured there would be more opinions for sure! :D

Lol, thanks to those who offered their thoughts, much appreciated.

Cheers!

I love mine, took it hunting too. Mounting it to a UTG rail might be a problem for eye relief. Even if you use one of those rails that go over the ejection port area.

I might be wrong but isn't that stripper clip mounting rail ment for a sage stock, where the barrel is free floated? I wonder how the extreme barrel whip would efect a scope with the UTG set-up with a striper clip rail?

I agree. If it was me I would put a smaller scope on your rifle with a more coventional mount. I have the UTG tri mount and love it but I'm using a holo sight and I love it

I've got the 10x40mm 3200 on my M-14. I wasn't able to mount it on my UTG tri-rail w/extension due to eye relief; before I could get the scope far back enough the underside of the scope bell hit the front end of the YHM extension rail.

I wound up buying an aluminum Sadlak mount from Fab and that setup has worked perfectly so far. I hung on to the UTG rail, though. I plan on eventually sticking it on one of Marstar's shorty Italian M-14's...
