opinions, price and source for 9mm ammo

I was trying to look at alternatives for my Glock 17 ammo.

What are some of the options out there in terms of "cheap" ammo.

Will cheap ammo always perform poorly or is there some inexpensive ammo that will enable me to shoot without constant issues.

So far I've been using Sellier & Bellot 124g FMJ @ $16 for a box. With taxes I'm looking at $18. If I shoot 500 to 1000 rounds per month...it could become expensive!

Any of the cheap stuff worth looking at? BDX ?

Reloading is a great alternative but I don't have the time or patience for that....at least not for now...maybe later

Given your location, I would try SFRC first since they are in your neighbourhood. Kurt at BDX also used to be very hard to reach for placing orders. I haven't bought any ammo from him in 8-9 months, so that may have improved, but I can't say.

Thanks...that's taking me from $0.32 per round to $0.23.

I guess the savings would add up over a large number of rounds fired.

The question is the relatively small savings worth it in terms of reliability.

I don't know about you, but a 28% savings is pretty significant in my books ($0.23 versus $0.32 per round). I guess it depends how much you shoot if it is worth it. To me, I can buy 39% more ammo for the same money and that equals 39% more fun.

I have fired at least a couple thousand rounds of BDX with no issues at all. Every time I pull the trigger it goes bang and both my 9's like the 124gr stuff. One also liked the 147gr load, but the other didn't.

I've never tried the Wolf reloads, so I can't say how they are.
