I've ordered a new M54 Cooper Stainless Jackson Hunter in 7mm-08 and I'd like some opinions on which stock you guy's like best (Coffee Laminate or Olive Synthetic). Below is a picture of the two stocks I'm interested in, although they are pictured on an Excalibur. Also shown is a Jackson Hunter M56. I already have a laminate Sako.

I'm generally a fan of laminated stocks but that one looks similar to what I flushed down the toilet this morning. I guess "Coffee laminate" has a nicer ring than "Turd laminate" bit they both look the same.

Sweet gun otherwise!
 
Synthetic. I like the look of the "turd" laminate, but I would bet that stock weighs 40+oz.
The B&C stock they use is about 32oz so its a matter of half a pound. That can affect balance as well.

That was my biggest concern. I have already contacted Cooper to see about having the grip checkered but they will only put checkering on there wood stocks.

I agree with how nice the wood is. The problem is I wouldn't want to take it hunting. Here in Nova Scitia during November, if it isn't raining it's pouring, drizzle, fog, sleet, snow or some combination of the above!
 
Walnut is my choice, however next would be laminate..........it looks nicer than tupperware, plus it adds weight to the firearm which enhances stability and accuracy.
 
I'd go with the olive synthetic. I think that wood looks good and prefer it (and laminate wood) to synthetic mostly but in this case I think it looks a little umm.. eh, rough is what ill call it ;)

Checkering looks really nice... I agree... but the sharp edges are the first to wear.... the synthetic stock isn't checkered either... :)....

Everything is according to taste and truthfully.... bottom line... from what I have read you have chosen a great rifle...... :)
