I have a 1301 and a Canuck Operator, but as much as I like the 1301, I bring the Canuck Operator to the the skeet range far more often.
FYI, I shoot skeet with a Vortex Spark Solar with the front lens cap on and shoot with both eyes open so I have a full field of view.
Shooting skeet with sights is very difficult with big leads, but the red dot with the objective covered resolves that problem. I only take the cover off the objective only for static or very slow moving targets.
One of the unexpected ergonomic surprises about the Canuck Operator is the way it hangs so nicely with a sling. It hangs flat against my chest so my hands are free. The 1301 can be carried the same way, but the sling needs to be wrapped around the butt stock to it hangs with the EJ port facing forward.
Since I like the Canuck Operator so much, I have really been thinking about getting an M4.
