Opinon on the Armlite AR-180B

180B = Pressed steel and plastic for $1200. <barf>

I bought one once and promptly sold it before even trying it out. Waaaaaaaay more steel in a T3. :nest:

I have one of the very first that came into the country. I put a RRA two stage trigger into it and a weaver rail. It shoots about MOA with 50gr vmax handloads and is tough and reliable. 100% functional at -25 to +30C. Easy to field strip and maintain. This is my go to bush carbine.

I got one and like it a lot. The biggest problem with them is they are LOUD. The plastic lower isn't that bad I have had mine for about 4 years and a gunnut had it before me and neither of us has had a problem.

I would have considered one had the type 97 not lured me in(non-restricted bullpup, cmon). they're not milspec, but they do accept the AR mags. The one I shot was nice and shot very well with AE ammo. The plastic lower didn't bother me either. The price didn't seem so bad until I seen the type97 price, but not everyone likes chinese built rifles.
