Optic Ready 9mm Pistols

Can't believe I'm saying this but....handled the Upgraded S&W M&P with the new much more flat trigger at SHOT, it's an outstanding gun. It's taken them a couple of generations but they have evolved into a great gun now.

US Border Patrol National Shooting Team are the "Big Dogs" so to speak at the NRA Nationals. They usually clean up on nearly everything. 4 years ago, very quietly they started showing up with Walther PPQ's for the Production matches. Sort of secretive as they didn't want anyone to know that was their go-to gun to win with. Stepped chamber, outstanding trigger and grip. There is just something about the Walther guns that make them not only accurate but more importantly able to shoot accurately.
It's their combination of human engineering that allows the results on paper. Lot's of guns shoot well from a machine rest but this one tends to give outstanding results in human hands, which is something a bit different.

Now now skimmer....are you sure? Owned both, shot both, competed with both and won with one, Walther.
I love HK, collect them and have HK Disease....but the Walther PDP is superior.
At the NRA National Police Championships there are lot's of different guns. In production class the national record is held with a Walther, not HK.

That said....if the Walther PDP was not available I would probably shoot the SFP-9. Love them both.

Cops are notoriously bad shooters, not surprised they are attracted to an inferior gun :ang3

Haha skimmer you are mostly right! Problem is the 300 or so out of 60 000 that go there are better than nearly everyone. The Border Patrol Guys are taking much of the Bianchi Cup prizes too with the AMU guys leading the pack there.

There are optics that have sights built in them. Luepold Delta point can get a rear sight attachment. So opens your option.

But remember that alot of the optic ready pistols, the sights are not high enough, and depending on your optic can be obscured.

I put a Riton on my Shadow 1 optic ready, that has a sight notch in it.

Anyone made a real world hands on comparison of the WALTHER PDP and the METE SFX ? The Mete's are said to have the best trigger out of the box. First time buyer here and having a tough time deciding what to get, there are so many good options out there.

I think the METE SFX is a great gun but not a good as the Walther. Quality of materials and engineering go to the Walther. I also like the Walther trigger better.
Stepped chamber and better barrel. Walther is more accurate....but METE is cheaper....if you want to support Turkey. There was another thread about not supporting anything from Turkey that went off the rails a bit. For me I don't want to support them.

I own or have owned the following optics ready firearms and they are all great. I am not a competitive shooter just a range junkie who really enjoys shooting.
Shadow Systems MR918L - will co witness with stock sights
Walther PDP compact - installed Shadow Systems fighter sights so I could just co-witness
IWI Masada Optics Ready
Sig P320 x five Legion - had to purchase the optics plate with dove tail as you loose your rears sight installing any red dot on it.
