So just about done my build but I need an optic. I went with the JP barrel and bolt as this is too be a dedicated .22, going to do other caliber uppers later.
I'm still learning about the world of optics and was wondering what others would consider best suiting the kind of shooting I'll be doing. Really this will be a fun gun for all uses 22.
Primary it will be for fun shooting, ####s and giggles in the back field with the other guys. Occasional small varmint control. Odd occasion bench shooting. The two properties where I get to do my fun shooting are both concerned about noise so most of what we do is 22s. Hence this build. We basically set up dozens of targets of whatever we want and then just shoot until we run out of ammo, or targets. We do everything from rapid fire dueling trees to precision shooting out to 100 yards.
Note that I have a variety of other 22s which fill specific needs. I have a 452 for iron sights shooting. An anschutz 64 for bench shooting and I just picked up the gsg 16 with drum mag for spray and pay short shooting. I expect this one to be the one I shoot the most, a sort of Jack of all trades every day 22.
I was looking at the primary arms 1-6x24 ACSS with 22lr reticle, what do you guys think? Other suggestions around that price point?
