Hi guys,
So im building a faux rifle and while it's not a clone, I do want an optic relatively period correct. Something similar that Henry from "9hole reviews" did with his faux. A fixed or variable zoom with the British T-post would be awesome!

Im open to authentic reproductions or scopes that are older as long as the quality is good and clear. I'd wanna hunt with it from time to time so somethinf that can hold it's own would be preferable!

Any recommendations out there? Thanks!

An old 1" Weaver will fit in the standard No. 4 bracket or replica. They don't look too bad and are way better than the original No. 32 optically. If you aren't using a proper repro bracket/ pads, then it really isn't a "faux T", just a scoped No. 4. If you have it set up with the pads and bracket then you might as well buy one of the repro No. 32 scopes. If concerned about their longevity you can use it sparingly and replace it with a cheap Weaver for range work.

I'm leaving more towards a faux rifle with a no drill bracket. As much as it would be cool to have a clone T, I'm on the fence about drilling and tapping the receiver. The rifle was given to my father as a sporter, then given to me and then I restored it (mostly).

So at first I wanted to drill and tap it but I don't know if there's really a point. I've seen some weavers used and they tend tk be a good quality scope so I think that'll be the route. Thoughts?

That’s a beautiful Savage made Enfield. I guess you have no valuation for it? I don’t think they are quite as populace as a Fazakerly or a BSA No.4.
Drilling and tapping for a scope will definitely reduce value for the rifle going forth.

The wood is new old stock. Im gunna redo the metal and put a finish on the wood to make it look nice considering it's not an "original" rifle anymore. Since my dad gave it to me, it'll be nice to have this with me for future deer hunts.

I'll probably go with the no drill mounts at this point.

If your going to go with the no drill/ no tap mounts have a look at the BadAce No. 4 mount. Out of Halifax NS, about 45 minutes away from me. Mine is also on a Savage I have rebuilt. A cheek riser is needed as it does put the scope up a bit high. I also have a couple S&K mounts. They work well but aren’t as long as the BadAce. The BA mount is longer allowing more adjust for eye relieve. BA also has multiple no drill/no tap for other military surplus rifles with most using the rear site base. A scout scope is needed with those mounts. I currently have them on a Mosin, K 11 , Swed 38, and Spanish 43 Mauser.

What modern scopes somewhat resemble the No32 scope? I have a reproduction No4T with the reproduction No32 scope but I was thinking I'd buy a second mount and a modern scope to run on it for hunting etc. Something not too expensive obviously.

Im going to put a bad ace mount on it. Im trying to find an older weaver scope that has a post reticle. Can easily go wirh s modern scope but I want it to look and feel like a clone as much as I can. Plus, I love a simple post reticle. I have a Lyman Alaskan reproduction on my 1903a4 and the simple post is just wonderful. For hunting, it's great as well.

Cheek riser will also be installed.
