Optic Suggestion for HKMR308

Hey guys

Looking for opinions on what glass I should put on my MR308.......

I wanted a 1-8 short dot but that is currently not available so I am in between on what I should get for her......The MR308 I have comes in 16.5 barrel so any suggestions would be welcome....

I was thinking of getting another 1-4 short dot buty will not get this by S&B.....want to try something new, or a different brand....was thinking of Steiner Optics...Or should i just wait another year on the 1-8 from S&B, on a side not many other companies have produced a 1-8 now but have since stopped producing them(Premier Reticles) so I'm in between on that.

I'm also looking to get some extended HK rail for MR308. I wanted a scope that was good for many different application.....

What are you CGN members running out there on your 308's?

You say 1-8x and I say U.S. Optics SR-8S and SR-8C

The short-dot reticle however isn't an option listed on their website, but knowing you can customize your order with them quite a bit, perhaps it's something they could do. If not, then it's no-go for that specific criteria you have set out.

Not sure of it's availability, but should be a fantastic piece of glass.

If anything, you can't cheap out on the glass!!
 
I would like to go with Premier Reticles because they are Canadian company now and are moving to Nova Scotia in Halifax.....They were just purchased and are already setting up operation here in Canada that i think will be best for exportation with the winds of lunacy that are blowing down South...
 
Read you loud and clear on purchasing it from a Canadian company, especially one that puts out glass of such quality.

Unless they have changed their product line and haven't updated their website yet, Premier doesn't offer any low magnification scope (be it 1-4x, 1-6x or 1-8x), only 3-15x and 5-25x; which perhaps better fit your criteria of "a scope that was good for many different application.
 
Tac Ord is a PR dealer, S&B is a "top shelf" optic but if you need a repair? it has to go overseas, about a 6 month wait. Casey at Tac Ord can fill in that blanks on that.
I thought that PR was coming out with a 1 X 8? if not, go with the Leupold Mark 6, it comes in a .223 and .308 version.
 
Realistically, what distances are you going to shoot, and what kind of shooting are going to be doing?

Getting one of the cooler new variables in 1-10 sounds great but is it worth the extra coin if it is left at 10 power magnification?
 
Cssoptics is apparently the Canadian distributor. In the optics forum someone wrote about dealing with them and the scope. I've never tried it but am also pretty interested.

Okay I have decided..

I'm going to wait till the S&B,Leopold,Premier Reticles,USO, comes in a 1-8....although I am seriously looking at Valdada line as well too...

I have a 1-4 on my MR223 16.5 and it is good but i would like more for the 308..

USO already does; no need to wait - just gotta order one.
