Optics for a benelli M4

I’ve got a Leupold Delta point pro and I love it. Very clear glass, nice features, terrific warranty. You’ve got a great shotgun, put something nice on it.

Strongly consider Holosun red-dot products, which are excellent value with cutting-edge features such as "Shake Awake" technology. I highly recommend the 510C for a shotgun optic as it has a huge field of view plus Holosun's "Circle-Dot" reticle with "Solar Power Backup" from even artificial ambilent indoor lighting. They are awesome sights for the money....

Sulun M4 Benelli clone w/ Holosun 510C Green Reticle: This sight features a huge "window" and consequent field of view. Very clear glass with minimal tint allows for sighting with both eyes open. Very nice on a shotgun, quite durable but might not withstand a drop.
Remington 870P w/ Holosun 507C Red Reticle. These sights feature thick aluminum housings that are literally bomb-proof. Sage Dynamics does exhaustive testing of all miniature pistol red-dot sghts, to include destructive drop-testing. Only the Trijicon RMR, Aimpoint ACRO and Holosun 507C and 508T (Titanium Housing) are recommended for duty use. That is VERY high praise from the most thorough tests on the internet. I use the Armson OEG on my 590 for the skeet range
The 590 has ghost ring sights which makes it real hard to hit fast movers, but I shoot as well as anyone out there with the Armson OEG.
The main advantage is that it is fiber optic so I never worry about batteries... also since you must use both eyes with this sight you are not confined by the field of view in a traditional red dot.
It also has some sort of tritium in it so the red dot can be used in the dark for like 10 years.
I think it's also a great optic for people with cross eye dominance.

Most of them come with a base, but it may not be what you want - height for example or perhaps Quick Detach - that kind of thing.

thanks for this, some searching found the 510 video and the window is huge; he also reviews holosun's 507 and 515...the larger window on the 510 seems to let you see more sooner.

When you mount your deltapoint, what is the height-above-rail to the Red dot's centerline? I've been looking at this option myself, or an RMR or Vortex. Those scalaworks mounts, where the RMR red dot sits low and cowitnesses with the ghost rings, seems silly to me. A heads-up, unobstructed view of the Red dot, just above the ghost ring, using the factory rail, seems like a much more practical option. I just don't want it to mount too high..
So I put mine on the pro cross mount on the factory rail. You can’t co-witness using the gun sites as the mount is too high. From the base of the rail to the red dot center line is about 2cm. So the leupold clears the front site completely, you can just barely see the front site if you shift a little. I’d also recommend a Mesa Tactical stock with an adjustable cheek riser to help raise your face to the correct height. Good luck!

Thanks! I'll probably end up putting a deltapoint pro on it. Not a big fan of their pic mount but, even less of Vortex's, though Vortex's seem to be the lowest reflexes. Both have fully transferrable lifetime warranties, unlike the Holosun stuff. Too bad Leupold never seems to go on sale.
I have one of those new Primary Arms SLx MD-25 red dots with the ACSS reticle in the mail for one of my rifles. I'm gonna try it out with the low mount on the M4 first, the low mount puts the red dot's centerline at 0.96" from pic top, it'll give me a good starting reference.
The LOP with the Mesa stock is too short for me. I'm a tall guy, long arms so.. I have some adhesive cheek pads of various sizes and thicknesses from God-a-Grip, I'll cut one to size and stick it on if I need to.
