I have spent the last two days looking for the right glass to put on my cx4 storm in 45 acp. I have searched many threads on here but none seem to give me what I am looking for.

What I would like to have is a short scope. The shorter the better. Something with a good field of view. I would like to have something in the 3x range adjustable if possible. With red/green illuminated recital. I know I ask alot when I put what I want up here. If possible to keep it under $600 would be nice but I am open to options.

I will be shooting no further than 125 meters.

Thanks

I was looking at them but I was hoping for something that had the fixed power already in it and that I would not have to add to it. Like adding the 3x to it. If that's the case should I just go with a scope?

Same reason people climb mountains. It is what I want to do. I am going to use it for hunting deer, wild pigs ect. Even punching paper. So I like to have optics.

You can have optics without having magnification. But what the hell? Why stop at 3x?

Because 3x is all I want. I was just looking for suggestions not to be reamed out for wanting something. Please don't argue with me about what I want. Thank you.

I'm not reaming you out. You posted looking for suggestions, and I have suggested that 3x magnification is completely unnecessary for a 45acp not to mention the fact that you want to use for deer hunting out to 125 meters

That is not a suggestion it's an opinion.

Here is a suggestion. How about Millett DMS its a 1-4x or The Falcon 1.5-5x, no they are not 3x but close to what you are looking for. I just have a zero magnification red dot on mine.

I ended up putting a scope on my CX4 9mm. The leupold VX2 2-7 was the perfect scope for me. I also used leupold quick release rings. The scope/ring combo is nice and light and believe it or not I use 7x a fair amount.

I was thinking a Leupold with maybe a 1.5-5x33 with an illuminated recital. That way I didn't go with too much zoom. Good idea. What do you use the 7x for?

Millet 1-4 is most likely best for your money, and yes you are headed in the right direction as magnification is always nice to have, if you don't need magnification the aim point mico is perfect.

I was at wss and I ended up buying a vortex Strike Fire. What a POS. I decided to buy it because it was about what I wanted and it was under $200. It only gave me 2x but I thought it was enough. After I got home I put it on ect.

So today I took it to the range to test it. I was 10 inch low at 15 feet. I adjusted it. It only brought it up about 1" after 20 clicks of 1/2moa adjustments. Anyways long in short of the story The dot moved every time I pulled the trigger. It is being returned and I guess I am going to try a millet next. If all else fails there is always Leupold.

I have a Cx4 Storm in .40 and it's only accurate up to about 50m. In my opinion a red dot 1x sight such as an eotech is best for this short range carbine.

Well I am able to hit a heart/lung size balloon at 100m with the peep sights every other shot. I know that I am pulling the other shot that misses. Thus why I wanted something better. Plus I am putting a better/longer barrel on it to make it non-restricted. So it should shoot even better.

SFRC has an optic on their site called the Lucid HD7...a fairly compact red dot sight with integral mount, and it comes with a screw-in 2x magnifier. They claim co-witness, I assume with the sights on an AR.

I'm considering one for my Storm carbine...I guess we're both idiots!:)

Well I wouldn't say idiots... My eyes are young but I still have some issues with seeing irons. I would like to have 3-4x but I would be happy with 2x. It is the same as everything else some people like some do not.
