Hi all, I would like to give a red dot optic a try on either my P226 or P320, ( both 9mm ), whichever would make the most sense as far as mounting options go...and I'm thinking something like the Voxtex Venom with its small profile and reasonable price might be a good place to start.

Any have advice/experience they could share?

Thanks,
Jim

Picked up a Sightmark+IMI Defense mount on EE awhile back (fits both my P226 and P320); works as it's supposed to, but really haven't used it much after playing around withit a bit. What is nice about this setup though is it allows for continued use of stock sights as co-witness. It also allows for a weapon light to be added, and with all that weight on the front end, and light reloads there is ZERO muzzle flip LOL.

WOW! That is some impressive looking hardware, I was thinking low profile and light weight...but it seems you went almost the opposite direction and got it to work for you!
Gives me something to think about...

That front rail mount option looks bad ass. Easier to remove too if you wanted to go back to stock iron sights.

Here's my 226... I went the low-profile way instead. I have two slides, the other is stock iron sights.

I mounted a Vortex Razor RDS on my SIG 226 but now I'm wondering about it getting beat up from the ejecting brass. Can anyone comment on their findings? Thanks.

Yea that's over done for anything practical - but it was a slow night, fortunately it all comes off again in seconds like I mentioned LOL

Took the plunge and bought a new in the box Vortex Venom (3mil) and a C-MORE Systems STS Dovetail Mount for a Sig P226...should get to try it this Sunday at the range, looking forward to the results...will advise!
