optics for pistols without rails?

Hi folks. What kind of options are out there for mounting a laser sight to an older style pistol that doesn't have mounting rails? I saw something on Marstar that mounted to the trigger guard... Sold out though.

Anyone with experience on this? Or maybe this is a better thread for "pistols"...
