Grew tired of the recoil from my Mossberg 535 and 3.5” turkey loads. Have shouldered a bunch of semi auto options in the last week, Winchester SX4 was clear winner for fit with Browning Silver a close 2nd. Trouble is most of the models are not drilled and tapped and I have a Vortex Venom reflex I’ll be mounting.
I’ve seen suggestions of a saddle mount from Sun Optics or Meadow Creek mount which goes right on vent rib ( not sure if there’s a Canadian retailer for either...)
Guys who have a scope on these models, what have you done? Drilling and tapping the aluminium receiver seems a bad idea...
