I sent them an email asking if they would ship a rifle scope to Canada. Here is the reply.

Greetings from OpticsPlanet.com!

The easiest way to determine the availability of an item for export is for you to place your order online. Once your order is in our system, we will then review the order using numerous checks relating to the item and its export destination.

When an order is placed, a pre-authorization is done with the payment method but no transaction is completed until the order is shipped. If we are unable to export the items you have requested, we can cancel the order and any credit card authorizations would cleared based on your banks policy and any (FRAUD ALERT) pre-authorizations would be voided.

Please place your order online and we’d be happy to get this process started for you. Have a great day!

Best regards,

That seems like a whole lot of unnecessary work to see if the will ship or not. Your question to them was as simple as they come.

Don't waste your time with Optics Planet. If you want a scope out of the US (to protest Korth's extortion or not) try 4scopes. There is a low flat shipping rate and they do everything legally.

I forgot about 4scopes but now wit the dollar so low it's not really worth it . Hopefully our dollar will recover. A 10% hit is not too bad but 30% is crazy.

If one was to buy a leupold from 4scopes, would one be s o l should the scope ever need warranty? Really like my leupolds but they are a rip off in Canada, to say the least.

I have never needed warranty on a Leupold but I don't see how we would be S O L. If Korth chose not to do service, then I would ship it to Leupold USA. Appropriate export documents would need to be completed for the ride home to do everything on the up and up. I would like to hear first hand from anyone who has done it this way, but I guess I will cross that road if/when its ever needed.
