Not all that "into" precision rifle. Do a little bit but looking at getting more involved. Just wondering..... many of the "tactical" scopes are fixed power. Example Tasco Super Sniper etc. Wouldn't a variable power scope be more practical? A 10x fixed scope at less than 70 yards could be a bit too much magnification etc. A 3x would be a bit more useful. I know that there are variable power scopes with BDC's that hold true thru-out there maginification range. Just wondering.....

tactical scopes

yes depending on the distances you are shooting finding a scope that suites your needs , the minimum i shoot is 100 yards i decided to go with a Barska 8x32x44 iluminated mill dot , when the club gets longer ranges built i will have the power to see clearly ,

The fixed 10 x scope was preferred due to the simplicity of design and with recent development of materials and and more precise alignment of the erector lenses the Variable scopes are becoming more prominent in use in both the Military and Law enforcement. I use a 10x scope from 50 m all the way out to 1000 m at the short distances it requires a lot of concentration to keep the scope on target after each shoot and yes the variable power scopes have the upper hand at targets that are closer in
