I am all for supporting Canadian businesses but sometimes you have to range far and wide to find a specialty item.

I needed a unique, German made rail for a Steyr and the only place in the entire world that listed it was Optics Trade - based in Slovenia.

They seem to be a major player in the European market and their website is extensive and well put together.

At any rate I took a leap of faith and ordered the item and paid with (FRAUD ALERT).

Everything went smoothly and I was given a Slovenia Post tracking number, (which quit working as soon as the package left their country).

The well packaged parcel arrived 3 weeks later and sailed through Customs without being intercepted for taxes on the Eur59 declared (true) value.

Delivered by Canada Post.

Very positive transaction - would not hesitate to order from them again.

I have purchased a couple discontinued items from them with success. It seems they are able to find sources that have stymied my searches in the past. Hopefully they are successful in locating the NIB Leupold 1.5-5x33 VXR scout I ordered. A 8-10 week wait is the price to pay for otherwise unobtanium.

Unfortunately some major optics brands are still restricted for export from EU, similarly to ITAR.

The info they put on there site certainly is helpful, some interesting reads on their blog too. I find that I can usually go there and find better info than some of the mfgrs post on their own site. Want to know about a European built item, it is probably on there. And with them pricing stuff in Cdn $, it does help to obtain a baseline to work with. Their shipping rate isn't terrible considering where they are, either.

Tried to buy from Canadian source to no avail. The base and rings I got for my BRNO combination gun arrived at my door in ten days, and fit perfectly.



Excellent service, with constant updates about the shipping, customs entry, expected delivery date, etc.

Arrived five days before expected delivery date.

I forgot to update. They weren't able to procure the scope, but my card was promptly refunded. It was worth a try at least.

4 days delivered to my door in middle of sask

just thought I'd bring this post back up, reassuring to read strong reviews here.....but has anybody used them recently?

communication was great when I asked couple questions before my order, directly asked about delivery time...since I've placed my order 9 days ago, radio silence, no shipping confirmation, no tracking number, no replies to emails, nobody picks up the phone (called multiple times from midnight to 1am to account for the time zone, they should have been open)

starting to worry I won't have my Leica binos in time for my hunt now

Also having a hard time getting a hold of them to return some rails that weren't the correct action length. It's been a very long process but they were extremely helpful in sourcing me the correct one eventually. I have already been refunded, so it's odd they aren't more concerned about getting their product back.
