OpticsPlanet experiences?

I ordered 2-3 times from there. It's pretty much like Brownell's (no barrels & such, order < 100$, registered manufacturers, etc). Order was timely, I had no duty to pay, it came from USPS via CP and shipping charges were not crazy.

I haven't dealt with them through CGN but have ordered binos from them on Ebay. Was a couple years ago but don't recall any issues whatsoever.

The product was satisfactory, shipping reasonable and fast. But they will innundate you with spam afterwards. Their unsubscribe doesn't work and to get off their damn list I had to call them and ask to be removed. Not keen to deal with them again.

Above Average. I bought a really nice Konus spotting scope from them. The tripod I ordered - it let me add it to my cart, then I got an email from them after placing the order that said it wasn't in stock and I should call to get an alternative. Apparently this is not an uncommon experience with them. Shipping was timely. I STRONGLY recommend placing you order on the phone with them rather than online and asking them for USPS shipping. My spotting scope was shipped UPS as they would not allow me to pick USPS for it online. If I had called, they would have.

I returned the tripod I purchased with the spotting scope to them - it was woefully inadequate. The scope is big and heavy. Purchased a Manfrotto from Henrys at a boxing day sale.

I'd buy the spotting scope from them again - but over the phone.

I've dealt with optics planet, good experience except they won't ship anything tactical up here, no knives, flashlights or gun parts. Their discount site (owned by optics planet) is dvor.com, its invite only and has different deals each day up to 70% off. Here's an invite code if you want one, just take the space out at the beginning of the address, can't post a working link to a non-sponsor site.
