I'm mounting a Zenith SB 3x12 x50 scope onto a Sako AIII in .308 caliber.
Unfortunately I'm unable to paste the diagram on this page but the eyepiece is 3.7", dia. is 30mm, and the tube is 5.6" with an outside eyepiece is 1.7". The goal is to mount it as far forward and as low as possible, taking into account the long 3.7" eyepiece.
It appears from the sako optilock site that the and go with short bases (S1700957) and ring choice would be 30 mm extra low (S21300928) but am I deciphering the info correctly?
Also, I emailed Talley and they suggest 252727 bases and medium screw 30 mm rings (300003) 30 mm low rings. There are no pictures available on the Talley site.
Have I chosen the correct Optilock rings? Would the Talley setup as suggested
be better?
Thanks.
