We have a small shipment of these shotguns available now -- popular and proven Optima 12GA Aimguard and Marineguard scatterguns built with the tactical and brush duties in mind! These have 14" barrels, fiber optic front sights, and synthetic stocks with provisions for a sling included. The Marineguards make great cheap beater boat guns when you have more than one watercraft to outfit (or a boat people keep managing to flip!) and don't like diving for Mossberg Marine 590A1s all day ;) The Aimguard is a great low-cost option for breaking apart pumpkins... tis the season, after all.

We ship for $10 flat rate coast to coast for firearms every day of the week, so don't let shipping costs stop you from grabbing a cool Optima shorty in time for fall bear season!

Cheers,
Daniel

The Escort/Optima is a great low cost shotgun platform that preforms very smoothly and consistently. All three of mine run and operate like champs. They are becoming quite prevelant among shooters and have a 5 year warranty from the Importer. I can't recall reading any claims personally online, and I read about these guns a lot. They are built well and finished nicely and precisely gun to gun.
I may need a fourth now after finally seeing the 14" released...

Perfect timing for Hatsan to finally release the 14" marine guard. I just bought the 20" a little while ago. I would prefer the 14". Now I might have two marine guards. Are these smaller ones a limited run?

I just bought a 20" black Aimguard myself last week. Love it. Love the 8 shot capacity too.
These 14" models look great, but Im really trying to find a use for the reduced length and capacity since I'm not a boater, backpacker or bear defense guy. I also have an 18.5 Marineguard.
I just really like Hatsans so I want another one!

Yes the fibre optic is really good. So friggin bright. Even in low light conditions.
The action on these feel smooth too, similar to a Benelli the way the bolt feels when it slides and locks open/close.

I have an Escort Legacy (semi-auto, changeable chokes) and love it.

I sent a support email request to Wanstalls, but was hoping someone who owns one can chime in.

What are the chances the barrel wall on the 14" aimguards is thick enough to tap for chokes?

Hatsan barrels are chrome lined, which could be a deciding factor. Not sure...

There is also the possibility of a external threading job, as the Escort MP line has this feature already.

I am looking at the Marine variant, so six of one, half dozen of the other, since the outside of the barrel is also chromed.

I'll probably still end up picking one up, but it would have been nice.

Does anyone know anything about the Scorpio PA-01? I see it does have chokes (although it is shorter, at 12.5")

ATI makes a pistol grip/M4 style collapsible stock, and S&J make sling mounts, side saddles and will soon offer Magpul forend conversions sometime after November.

Thanks for the info. Definitely interested.

Do u know if it stays NR with the ATI M4 collapsible stock?

Just curious, if anyone knows that'd be great!

Length of pull?
Receiver material, aluminum/steel?
Stocks or adapters available to fit 870 or 590 stocks?

Thanks! Really intrested in the marine guard!

Chances are pretty good. I know from experience (for science!) That a Remington 870 with 14" barrel and birdshead comes in at 26.5"

So I am guessing you are safe.

I bought the Scorpio PA-01 from Wanstalls, but returned it because it wasn't compatible with 870 parts (despite being an 870 action). Wanstalls return policy was excellent, they were very helpful and considerate, they earned a repeat customer with that transaction. However the Scorpio is made pretty cheaply, the stock is very thin hollow plastic and the forend is almost completely molded plastic (that is, there is no forend tube or whatever it's called that an 870 forestock would normally attach to).

Wanstalls really impressed me but the Scorpio did not.
