Optimum barrel length

What would be the optimum barrel length for a 358 Norma Magnum? 24", 25" or 26" ? And rate of twist ? I will be mainly shooting 225 - 250 gr bullets.

No longer than 24". I don't care about tiny differences in ballistics as much as having a rifle that works for hunting.

According to that great list of twist for rifle barrels posted by Ted, the twist rate would be 1 in 12 inches.
I agree also, not over 24 inch barrel, but not much shorter, either. And again, I am not thinking about insignificant differences in velocity, but more concerned with extra noise from short barrels.

As bores grow, the need for magnum length barrels diminishes of course due to physics. I'd be very happy with a 24" .358 Norma.
