Just wondering what the optimum rate of twist for .280 / 7mm would be. Ideally shooting 140 gr bullets and the odd time a 160 gr bullet. I noticed most 7mm-08 and 7mm rem mags are 1-9.5" twist where as a .280 rem is 1-10" twist.... Any reason the .280 doesn't follow suit?

Any of the twists the factories produce in their rifles will handle all normal bullets. A bit quicker "standard" twist will never be detrimental. The majority of re-barrelling jobs I do in 7mm are with 9 twist barrels.

Do they make a 1 in 7?
