It seems the only U.S. Mod2 forend availble is the black color which won't help my FDE gun. And a few tube mounted GG&G flashlight mounts are not MOD2 compatible as per GG&G website. Though I'm not sure if that is just a U.S. Mod 2 forend thing which doesn't affect Canadian forend. Anyone has experience in adding a light I appreicate your opinion please chime in. The last thing I want would to get an aftermarket forend as the current forend feels and looks great, matching the buttstock perfectly.

Well seems the logical route will be go with a tube extension and then a barrel clamp. Was hoping for a sub $100 solution. welp

What light are you trying to mount? It would be simple to add a short section of rail to your factory handguard and use one of the many options available for rail mounted lights.

***Edit - I remembered that our Mod 2's don't have the M-Lok handguards, for some stupid reason. Anyway, you could have a black Mod 2 handguard color matched to blend in on your gun?

Acquire and cerakote the u.s. mod2 forend to FDE would probably cost same as getting a magtube extension and barrel clamp. Also +1 round.

Maybe it's just me but you could just if you haven't already buy a Canadian legal mag extension from S&J Hardware with the barrel clamp, Tactical Ordinance if I recall also sells a Canada compliant version of the Nordic MXT extension for the 1301 that includes the barrel clamp, no matter what option you go with though they both have picatinny rails for stuff like lights and laser. I personally have the S&J version though without the barrel clamp since my A300 Patrol already had the M-lok forend.

Picatinny rail with the mounting holes spaced accordingly to mount on the mlok slots that are on the Mod2 handguard. I used a MDT rail that I modified.
