options for a 45 long colt

Ruger Redhawk 4 1/4" barrel round butt, also comes with moon clips to shoot 45 acp, I love mine better than my 44 mag redhawk

The S&W's model 25 and 625 are among the best DA .45 Colt available. You could also look at a Colt Anaconda in .45, not bad, decently accurate but nowhere near the S&W's quality/accuracy/trigger wise IMHO.

Just sold my 5" 25-9 "Model of 1989" a few weeks ago to a CGN'r but still have a blued 6" 25-9 that get to the range once in a while and two NIB Stocking Dealer Specials 625-5 that I keep as safe queens since they are fetching more than Pythons these days on Gunbroker.

The 625 is .45ACP. Great gun but not .45 Colt. I have a S/A Freedom Arms M83 .454 (shoots .45 Colt) great gun, pricey but it works great.

The 625-5 Stocking Dealer Special is in .45 Colt with full underlug and 5" barrel. Only 1500 made in 1993 only.

I'm also selling my Freedom Arms Model 97 in .45 Colt, NIB unfired. Indeed expensive but one of the best SA revolver available on the market today.

If a fellow looks around a bit, he might find a Colt New Service, either in 45 LC from the factory, or converted from .455. I had one. Great big ol' horse pistol of a thing. Lotsa fun, very stylish.

Good hunting!

There were several versions of the 25 and 625 - most 625's were in 45ACP/45A.R., but some in 45 Colt. The visual telltale is the 45ACP versions have an abnormally short cylinder (with a large space between the front of the cylinder and the frame); the 45 Colt versions have a more "normal" length cylinder.
