Options for semi auto long range rifles?

Haha, ok. Well Tactical imports offers the GM6 Lynx in .50 BMG, $15000. Dlask had Serbu .50s at $7000. There are a number of AR type rifles designed in .338. Not sure what else there is really. I vaguely recall someon eon the board bringing in an RND .50 BMG, starting at $12500, apparently.

Browning BAR although not tactical - could be painted and can be had in .338 Win Mag (not Lapua)
There is a BAR .308 version that has a pistol grip and reg. detachable mag built by FNH.

For the 338 this should be interesting provided someone can bring it in and it isn't restricted or prohibited

For the 50 the Serbu is available but you should do your own research on that one as I don't think it is the best choice, other option is the lynx that was already mentioned and I don't think it is worth the money either.

As you are asking about "semi auto/tactical long range rifle" let's talk about what you consider "long range". There is one range in Ontario where you can shoot these calibers at 1000 yards, CFB Borden. Access to this range is available as a member of the Ontario Rifle Association but only on days the range is booked. Unless you have a large piece of private land somewhere, you are pretty limited for ranges.

Poking holes in paper targets at 1000 yards does not require a .338 or .50 cal. I have seen shooters using these calibers during practice, however I've never see these same guy shooting in competetion. During a competition you can figure on firing 50-60 rounds a day. Even if you could handload your ammo for $5 each (not likey with a .50 cal), one day of competition will cost you around $250 in ammo alone. I will let you do the math once you figure out the real price per round of ammo.

I was playing with a suppressed .308 by LMT LM308MWE. It was holding 1/2"-3/4" MOA with factory ammo. Went suppressed the groups shrunk to 1/2" or less consistantly all I can say is very impressed.

Unfortunately they are restricted:(

Ellwoodepps has the bad news http://www.onlylongrange.com/badnews.asp in .338LM in stock think they are asking around 5kish for it

The two things I take from that are

The Noreen design affords the familiar fit & feel of a conventional AR with the long range performance of the proven & powerful .338 Lapua round

NOTE: DO NOT use Hornady ammunition. Our rifles will not work with this ammunition
