Just wondering if any fellow Yukoner's have any suggestions about getting ammo shipped up to the territory from down south. Not living in Whitehorse. Canada post doesn't work. UPS doesn't ship to the out-lying communities.......any suggestions without breaking the bank???

Are there any trucking company's that deliver any products?
Ask one of the drivers.

When I was in charge of the General Motors parts run in western Canada.
I had drivers pick up all kids of stuff to make them some extra lunch money.

canpar was doing it.

good luck so far no one is delivering unless you re willing to loose an arm.

a truck driver can loose a lot if doing it:

ammo are dangerous goods ...

Only if over personal amounts. Even then. Put some placards on and go. So many drivers have their TDG cert

The Yukon is beautiful , maybe a fellow Gunnutter is heading up there on Holidays and will deliver some . How far are you from Whitehorse ? There are lots of great people on the Forums , you never know .

roads has been closed for tourism, people are given 24hours to cross and leave.

Canpar rates added to even pre-COVID southern ammo prices make Hougen's sound cheap in comparison unfortunately. Best way is find someone traveling up the highway with some room in the trunk. The travel ban makes it more complicated, but Yukoners are still coming home.

Doesn’t help you right now in the moment, but, maybe set up with a fellow nutter who lives in Whitehorse so you can get CP shipments and pick them up monthly or so going forward.

the problem is even getting the shipping coming here. last time i tried to get 7.62x39 i was quoted $250 for the shipping of one case of roughly 1000 rounds ... the local dealer seems cheap in that case ...

Throwing placards on a truck DOES NOT automatically make it okay. You apparently know nothing about the industry. You need a bill of lading and DG paperwork to accompany the freight.

Also I am a terminal manager for a trucking company and a driver carrying freight other than what is on his manifest dangerous goods or not WILL lose their job.
