I've often thought one of their type 2 lowers would be awesome paired to my 604 upper. But honestly, I don't think the retro AR-15 movement has much steam in Canada. We don't have the buckets of old surplus parts that the US had to kickstart the fad on the cheap. I suspect that any demand for retro stuff up here would be minimal, and the retailers know that.

NDS isn't a registered exporter, therefore it would be illegal to export their products. Unless/until ITAR gets wiped out, you won't see any of their stuff.

^^^This. IRG or anyone else for that matter can't bring them in because they are not registered with ITAR.

...of course if Trump gets elected, ITAR may get trashed.

In the meantime IRG has done a great job of bringing in real surplus uppers, it's the no fence lower that can be a pain to get.

I did a quick search and the last time IRG appears to have had m16 or M16A1 uppers was two years ago.

Brownell's now sells repro M16A1 uppers/lowers and barrels. The forgings are supplied by NDS but all machining/finishing is done by Brownell's. Finish is only in black at the moment.
