There were 36 senior Target Rifle shooters, 38 F Class shooters (the most ever) and about 60 cadets from Canada and the UK.
Weather at Camp Borden was warm and dry. Winds were light. Scores were high. The target Rifle shooters shot many perfect scores.
Des Vamplew seemeed to win the most TR matches (the picture below shows him shooting an old Musgrave in a wood stock).
Norm Barber probably won the most F Class matches, shooting a 7x63. Bruce Condie and the Wu brothers also collected a lot of harddware.
The winners of the Lt. Gov's match got chaired off the range.
In TR Dean Mohideen got the ride of his life. He had a high agg throughout and went into the final match with a 1 point lead. At the final (15 shots at 1000 yds) he went clean - securing his ride. Dean is age 74. A lesson to us youngsters.
Speaking of youngsters. Leo D'Amour (age 83, I think) shot very high scores, too.
In F Class Ken Proulx shooting a FTR rifle in 308 beat all the hot shot sooper dooper rifles and rode off the range in style.
For the first time, the F Class shooters were assigned their own bank of targets and did not share targets with TR shooters. I think this was a real good idea for a whole bunch of reasons. The pace and conduct of the two diciplines are different. It was more fun to shoot with fellow F Classers and meet more of them up close.
Some shooters avoid the intense discussions about wind doping, bullet BC, neck turning, etc. and prefer to meditate to help maintain focus:
Some of the rifles are works of art. Others just shoot very well.
I hope others can comment and post more pictures.
