I want to thank everyone who came out to this year’s first ORA CQBm1.

What a wonderful day we had, high winds to help us focus on wind drift, the sun poking its head out near the end to warm our bodies.

Today was a day where everything just clicked and worked well.

To all, you’re a great group to be with, helping with tasks when asked. Mentoring others and giving out advice.

A special thanks to Timk who always keeps us focused and on time.
Dave for being well Dave and always doing an excellent job.
To the unsung hero "Stats", without them no scores to brag about.

Just a reminder make sure review the CQB dates as some have changed.

See post 2015 ORA Service CQB and SR Schedule and Info.

Weather was good. Ground was not wet (or frozen) and it was warm enough by the end of the match to take our gloves off.

I tried to take pictures, but with just two relays, we were either shooting/safeting or marking/re-bombing. If you did not get a chance to model your new Gucci kit, sorry.

Scores are getting so much higher. The middle third are shooting score that used to win matches. Most of us are losing most of our points on the pistol. Personally, I have been training on this element and have seen a bit of improvement. I am faster, but don't seem to be feeling as rushed. But I still scored no points on the 25 yard element with pistol.

I used a CSA-858 in 223 with iron sights. This setup was accurate, but I had trouble getting the magazine in under pressure. Three times I failed to get 5 shots off. Nothing is as good as a AR-15 for reloading smoothness.

Great day out despite my ATT troubles! The wind posed some difficulties but in the end, good times prevailed.
Thanks to everyone who helped out, it always keeps things running smoothly and thanks to Ganderite for always documenting the event!

Congrats to Titus for the win!

Thanks, ganderite, for the write up and fun pics! I was indoors most of the day, slaving away at the computer to enter the scores. Poor little old me ...

I particularly appreciated your comment about the scores, especially considering that you came roughly in the middle this time, even though I _believe_ you came in 1st Place during the demo match at the last clinic. (Applause.)

Big thanks also to the organizers.

I'm glad that I found out about the ORA a couple months ago and was able to join and participate. (Thanks TimK.)

Another great day out at Langemark range! A big thanks goes out to Tim, Dave, Erich, and Nico for doing the stats. It's great to be back out on the range with you guys after such a long cold winter. You can't ask for a better group of people to share a range with.
