A great match was held Saturday at CFB Borden with easily the best weather of the year! A strong group of competitors had a great showing at the match and lots of new shooters got the opportunity to give CQB a shot as well.

A smooth safe match was run and with the largest crowd of the year so far attending, we were still done and on our way home early in the afternoon.

For anyone who missed out on this match, there is still space at the matches being held for the rest of the year, so contact the match director at the address in the sticky above to book your spot!

Pictures coming, too. It takes a long time on my slow rural internet to upload them. I tried to get a picture of most of the shooters. I usually don't get a picture of those on the same relay as me...

I really enjoyed trying my SKS. It has a TRS25 red dot and I found the small dot easy to see and easy to aim.

I am going to see if I can load my Ross with 303 stripper clips. If so, that rifle is next.

Sorry I missed it. I was canvassing with our PC candidate in London West. Had a great sight though, a B17 flew over head!!!

Looking at the scores, I notice how close many folks are in points especially in the Master class. Getting the head shot with the pistol seems to give the greatest gains score wise since you pick up the body scores with it. Practice the pistol and the move and shoot with the rifle.

Right on theDuck.
With my new RX top bi-focal glasses , most of my pistol shots were in scoring position. (a first for me)

Correction:

Match 1 : all 6 pistol rounds scored
Match 3 : all 6 pistol rounds scored
Match 4 : 9 out of 10 pistol rounds scored.

What an awesome day, great time, great folks! It is a shame that there's nothing in June.

What impressed the hell out of me was all the work that goes on behind the scenes, that people would show up and collect match stubs, enter the data, and not even get a chance to fire off a pile of rounds themselves, well, that's dedication. Thank you :)

I'm one of the guys who split the range brass from the cqbm3 match, going through it now for reloading... someone's shooting some norinco ammo and it's had 1 split neck and one a little torn at the shoulder; you might want to check the rest of your ammo, etc. The person with the Hornady, please shoot more of it. Thanks :)
